This month’s featured pet is Abby, an approximately 8-year old Shih-Tzu mix owned by Lois Barnum. Abby had been surrendered to a shelter in rural West Virginia, and ended up at Homeward Trails, a rescue organization from which Ms. Barnum adopted Abby in December of 2007. Ms. Barnum wonders why the good-tempered Abby was ever turned in to a shelter, and says she will never know. Though she is a rescue, Ms. Barnum reports that Abby must have been well-loved as a puppy, because she is perfectly housetrained, and does not beg at the table, get into the trash or damage anything in her home. Abby loves people, and is definitely a lap dog. Apparently, Abby’s only flaw is her dislike for other dogs. However, Abby has never met a person she doesn’t like! Ms. Barnum is thrilled to have found and adopted her wonderful Abby. We thank Ms. Barnum for submitting Abby’s story, and encourage others to do the same. You can submit your pet’s story and photo, via email, to info@odahcenter.com |
