Featured Pet of the Month

This month’s featured pet is Abby, an approximately 8-year old Shih-Tzu mix owned by Lois Barnum.

Abby had been surrendered to a shelter in rural West Virginia, and ended up at Homeward Trails, a rescue organization from which Ms. Barnum adopted Abby in December of 2007. Ms. Barnum wonders why the good-tempered Abby was ever turned in to a shelter, and says she will never know.

Though she is a rescue, Ms. Barnum reports that Abby must have been well-loved as a puppy, because she is perfectly housetrained, and does not beg at the table, get into the trash or damage anything in her home.

Abby loves people, and is definitely a lap dog. Apparently, Abby’s only flaw is her dislike for other dogs. However, Abby has never met a person she doesn’t like!

Ms. Barnum is thrilled to have found and adopted her wonderful Abby.
