Consuming rawhide risks choking and digestive problems, so talk with your veterinarian about whether it’s OK for your dog to have.  Rawhide for dogs certainly seems like a clever concept, but dogs can find themselves sick and in pain if they eat too much of the rawhide or ingest pieces that are too big.  They’re edible and contain protein and fat, but they should never be more than an extra to your dog’s diet. In fact, eating too much rawhide can cause your dog to experience vomiting and diarrhea.
